As a pet photographer servicing Melbourne, Geelong and Macedon Ranges who specializes in capturing the beauty and personality of cats, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing countless feline friends.
This year, I had the incredible opportunity to take things to the next level by exhibiting at the Cat Lovers Festival in Melbourne—and what an experience it was! If you're a cat lover (or just love pets in general), then this event is an absolute must-visit, as it was combined with the Dog Lovers Festival and for me, it was an unforgettable chance to connect with like-minded people and showcase the art of pet portrait photography.

A Warm Welcome from Fellow Cat Lovers
The moment I stepped into the festival, I felt an overwhelming sense of belonging. It’s not often you find yourself surrounded by so many passionate, like-minded people who adore their pets as much as you do. It was heartwarming to talk to cat owners who shared stories about their beloved feline companions, and it was clear that cats hold a special place in so many people’s hearts. As a photographer, hearing these personal stories of love, loyalty, and joy was incredibly inspiring, and I feel privileged to have been able to connect with such a wonderful community.
I was thrilled to meet so many visitors who were not only fascinated by the concept of pet photography but also excited to learn more about the process.
What really stood out to me was how many visitors didn’t even realize that pet photography was a thing! It was an eye-opening experience to chat with people who had never thought of capturing a professional portrait of their beloved cats. The Joy of Sharing What I Do
I walked people through the experience of what a pet portrait photography session entails and how easygoing a photoshoot can be when we take the time to connect with their pets and make them feel at ease, explaining that a calm environment and patience is an absolute must.
On display were many of the wide range of beautifully crafted products we offer to display their pet portraits. Whether it's a high-quality canvas print, a custom framed portrait, a gorgeous folio box or even a luxury photo album, the possibilities to showcase your pet’s personality in your home are endless. Pet photography isn’t just about capturing a moment—it’s about turning it into a lasting memory.
A Fantastic Community of Vendors
One of the best parts of the festival was meeting other vendors who shared my love of pets. From luxurious pet products to handmade cat toys and treats, it was like I’d found my tribe. The Cat Lovers Festival really brought together a fantastic community of people who are all about enhancing the lives of cats and their owners. It was such a rewarding experience to network and connect with other small businesses who are passionate about what they do.
Gratitude for Amazing Support
I couldn’t have asked for better support during my first-ever exhibition. Having my daughter and one of my dearest friends from school days by my side was invaluable. They helped with everything from setting up the booth to chatting with visitors and keeping things running smoothly. It truly felt like a team effort, and I’m so grateful to have had their support. It made the entire experience even more enjoyable and memorable.

Looking Ahead to 2025!
After such a fantastic experience, I’m already looking forward to returning to the Cat Lovers Festival in 2025. I’ll be bringing more stunning cat portraits, new products, and plenty of new insights on how to celebrate the special bond between you and your feline companion through the art of photography.
If you missed the festival this year, don’t worry—you’ll have another chance to meet me and discover the magic of pet portrait photography in 2025. I can’t wait to meet even more pet lovers, answer questions, and help create more beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.
