Ingrid's Haven - Saving Lives Every Day

I first came across Ingrid's Haven late in 2018. I can't remember why I was looking (or if I had been or someone had told me about the Haven) as it hadn't really been long since Cosmo had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Cosmo was a one in a million cat and certainly left a big hole with his transition. No other kitty could or would ever replace him.

Ingrid is an absolute legend (and an extremely modest one) who has dedicated a large part of her life being the voice for those who have none, for those abandoned and unwanted kitties because she knows every life is worth saving, no matter how big or how small.

There are many rescue cats of all ages and kittens ready to find their forever human families . They come from death row, rescued by Ingrid until they are fortunate to find their forever homes. Unlike the pound, at Ingrid's there is no 'use by date'.

The Haven is just that, a haven for the kitties that cross it's threshold and a true, no kill shelter. Ingrid, a faithful animal welfare advocate makes sure every furbaby is loved, fed and warm. Each one is her little love.

Most pet rescue organizations are run using volunteer foster carers, however Ingrid's Haven is on site 24/7 and is run by Ingrid and her hard working team of amazing volunteers (otherwise known as the vollies).

Ingrid's Haven is a non-profit cat shelter in Victoria. All cats are vet-checked, desexed, microchipped, and vaccinated.

Ingrid has one rule with her cats - if for any reason adopted cats don't work out with their new family, the cat must be returned to the Haven. No questions asked but this way she knows the cats will be ok if returned to her.

If you would love a new kitty in your life, or know someone who would, please visit Ingrid's Haven located in Sunday Creek, one hour north of Melbourne on the Hume freeway and help these kitties find their human families.

And yes, two of Ingrid's kitties now live here. Cleo and Milly found their forever home.

I have photographed quite a few of the beautiful fur babies at Ingrid's Haven over time and I am currently doing a photography project to raise funds to help with the kitties.

If you would like to assist Ingrid and the cats, please give her a call on 0417 360 700 to discuss various ways this can be done or visit the Haven website below.
